The Global Fund Country Team recently met with Secretary Health Sindh on January 10, 2024, focusing on their partnership to tackle malaria. Participants included Dr Qasim Abbas, DNC Malaria, Dr Hammad Habib, Advisor Malaria CMU, Dr Sohail Ahmad-Project Manager (Malaria) CMU, and Abdul Hamid, M&E/Surveillance Coordinator VBD DGHS Sindh. Abdul Hamid presented the current malaria situation in Sindh, expressing thanks for Global Fund’s support. The team acknowledged this collaboration’s significance, emphasizing their shared dedication to eliminating malaria in the region. Such joint efforts play a crucial role in reaching health goals and working towards a malaria-free future for Sindh.
On January 8th, 2024, Dr. Abdul Wali, DNC TB, chaired a pivotal Monthly Coordination Meeting between CMU, MC, and HISP. The meeting covered critical updates and decisions to enhance DHIS2 Case Based Tracker under BMGF grant. Future plans, progress reports, and collaborative workshops were also addressed, showcasing a comprehensive approach to TB management. The meeting concluded with a commitment to ongoing collaboration, ensuring a streamlined and effective TB tracking system
In a recent meeting, the National Coordinator CMU, Deputy National Coordinator TB, and Incharge M&E engaged with the M&E and Surveillance Unit on 5th January 2023. The focus was on updating and planning for ongoing activities related to TB, AIDS, and Malaria, reflecting a comprehensive approach to disease management and control using surveillance tools.

In a collaborative effort, the Common Management Unit and UNDP Pakistan organized a targeted training program for newly formed Community-Based Organizations’ (CBO) staff on the National HIV/AIDS Management Information System in both Lahore and Karachi, spanning from December 18th to 22nd, 2023.
The sessions, skillfully conducted by the MIS Manager and MIS Officer, delved into the intricacies of the system, ensuring a thorough understanding for the participants. The training not only encompassed in-depth theoretical sessions but also facilitated engaging Q&A sessions, fostering a dynamic learning environment. This initiative aimed to enhance the proficiency of CBO staff in effectively utilizing the Information System.
